2015 Winners
Darian Hornsby was a most worthy student-athlete AAO Scholarship winner in June of 2015 after graduating from Haines City High School. She sustained an exceeding high GPA all 4 years and further distinguished herself by coming back from a near career ending torn meniscus and ACL left knee injury her freshman year. She played and started varsity volleyball all 4 years. She was diagnosed with mononucleosis her junior year and again came back to be named MVP her senior year.
Lindsey Keen was a very credible student-athlete AAO Scholarship winner in June of 2015. She lost her father to cancer at the age of 12, which had a huge effect on her and the family. She has maintained an exceeding high GPA all 4 years and was a member of the National Honor Society. She came back from a near season ending heart abnormality issue her junior year to captain the volleyball and softball teams her senior year.
Amanda Rodgers was a commendable student-athlete AAO Scholarship winner in June of 2015 after graduating from George Jenkins High School-Lakeland. She created a very extraordinary GPA all 4 years and was co-captain of the tennis team her senior year. Along with being deaf in her left ear, she was diagnosed in 2014 to have an almost season ending digestive disease that caused internal bleeding. This interrupted her competitive tennis schedule her senior season. After an extensive and difficult recuperation, she persevered and returned to competition to lead the team to a district championship.
